Winterlude finale – Family Day Ottawa 2017
What a great Winterlude we’ve had this year! If you haven’t had a chance to get down to enjoy it here’s a quick rundown of what to expect heading into the Family Day long weekend.
There is a wide range of activities to enjoy scheduled at several locations around Ottawa and Gatineau. The main events take place at Jacques-Cartier Park, Confederation Park, Marion Dewar Plaza and the Rideau Canal Skateway, the entire 7.8 km of the Rideau Canal Skateway is open. Swept and flooded last night ready to enjoy (forget the Waterludes of yesteryear, that ice is solid!).
This years Winterlude is much larger than it has been in recent years. The stunning Crystal Garden at Confederation Park is spectacular. Ice carvers from around the world have come to compete, enjoy the exquisite detail and craftsmanship, especially at night, these works of art are dazzling in the special lighting.
Stick around and enjoy the Sub-Zero concert series.
Saturday, February 18 – David Usher + DJ Daniel « D Noy » Desnoyers after the concert
There is a lot of fun just across the river, the Snowflake Kingdom returns to Jacques-Cartier Park in Gatineau. Activities for the whole family, from snow slides and zip-lining to a large snow maze and magnificent snow sculptures. Don’t forget the Ice Hog Family, hot chocolate and Beavertails!
New for this year
